MAMMOTH FILM FESTIVAL

Film Festivals are definitely a year round sort of affair. They usually feel like they take place in the front half of the year. While there are the biggies like Cannes and Sundance, Film Daily loves those fascinating up and comers as well. On Monday, March 3rd the Mammoth Film Festival announced their awards for their best year ever. Mammoth Film Festival wrapped its 3rd annual year over the course of five days and over a 100 excellent entries of both films and episodics.

The big winners of the Mammoth Film Festival were Tony Hawk’s Pretending I’m A Superman, which won Best Action Sports (Feature) and Best Documentary (Feature). Festival Favorite went to Hour of Lead, which was directed by Peter Facinelli and starred Anne Heche and Thomas Jane. Alone, meanwhile, took Best Picture Feature with Jules Wilcox snagging Best Actress in a Feature Award for her work.

Lukas Haas nabbed the award for Best Achievement in filmmaking for the music video for She’s In My Head, which premiered live to YouTube during its theatre screening at the festival.

The Audience Award for the Mammoth Film Festival went to Runt, which one was of the final projects of the late Descendants star Cameron Boyce. It also nabbed the award for Achievement in Filmmaking: Director for William Coakley. Boyce’s family, representing the Cameron Boyce Foundation, were also in attendance for the premiere.

Lucifer fans will be pleased to know that the Kevin Alejandro directed short, Adult Night, also took home the Audience Award for Short. Alejandro also stars in the short with his Lucifer co-star Lesley-Ann Brandt.
